The Social Science Research Center is a 75 year old interdisiciplinary research unit located on the campus of Mississippi State University.
Mission Statement
With 75 years of experience, the SSRC executes multi-method research, evaluations, and services for social, economic, human resource, and ecological issues throughout the state, nation, and globe. As a Mississippi State University community member, the SSRC secures funding, integrates students into research projects, and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Research Areas
Our work spans the gamut of social science research, with each discipline conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses. We partner with individual researchers, agencies, and nonprofits to conduct work across campus, throughout the state, or around the globe.
Our researchers have decades of experience in multimethod work including evaluations, data visualization, message development, surveillance, data collection and analysis, focus groups, and trainings.
Our research areas are primarily in public health, early childhood development, juvenile justice, international development, substance abuse, and rural education.
